Congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the holiday of Ramadan Hayit

Dear compatriots!
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you, all our people, on the holiday of kindness, mercy, and generosity - the holy Ramadan Hayit.
In these wonderful moments, we thank the Almighty for the peace and tranquility in our land.
Following the tradition established in recent years, this year we, together with you and all our people, have done many good deeds to ensure the worthy observance of the month of Ramadan.
It should be noted that, in accordance with a special decree on supporting vulnerable segments of the population, 1 trillion soums were allocated - for the first time in 35 years in such a large amount - to support low-income families and provide medical care to the sick. In particular, 450 billion soums were allocated to provide material assistance to more than 600 thousand families in need. In addition, medical care is provided to 6 thousand patients from the social registry, including complex surgical operations.
During the month of Ramadan, 100 thousand gifts were distributed to the population. Within the framework of the "Ramadan tuhfasi" project, more than 30 thousand iftar events were held for needy families and residents of "Muruvvat" and "Sahovat" homes, as well as compatriots abroad.
This noble work fully corresponds to the humanistic essence of our sacred religion. It is gratifying that this is a practical result of our reforms aimed at ensuring human interests, elevating their honor and dignity.
Dear friends!
Today, New Uzbekistan is entering an even more important stage of its development. Thanks to the large-scale renewal processes in all spheres and sectors, the pace of growth and progress is increasing. Extensive work is also being carried out to develop the spiritual and educational sphere, to deeply study and widely popularize the rich heritage of Islamic civilization.
In particular, last year, the Bahouddin Naqshband Research Center - a prominent thinker, a bright representative of Sufism - was opened in Bukhara.
The opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in the capital of Uzbekistan and the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in the Samarkand region was a wonderful gift to our people on these sacred days.
As a continuation of this noble work, large-scale reconstruction of the complex of the great theologian Imam Maturidi is being carried out in Samarkand. Also, in the coming days, the International Center for Tolerance and Interfaith Dialogue will begin operating in Tashkent. I am confident that this will serve to further enhance the authority of Uzbekistan as a country of interethnic and interfaith cooperation, peace, and friendship.
Dear compatriots!
In the current extremely complex international situation, maintaining peace, tranquility and prosperity in families and neighborhoods, throughout the country, and protecting young people from alien, destructive ideas remains a highly urgent task.
And in this, we rely on our respected veterans with extensive life experience, representatives of the intelligentsia and religious scholars, mahalla activists, and proactive youth.
On this great holiday, we, first of all, wish for the speedy cessation of all wars and conflicts in various regions of the Earth, a peaceful and tranquil life for all peoples.
Taking this opportunity, we greet and sincerely congratulate the entire Muslim ummah in the countries of near and far abroad.
We wholeheartedly congratulate our compatriots who are studying or working abroad and wish them new successes.
Dear friends!
In these blessed days, I once again congratulate you on the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, wish you all health, happiness, peace, tranquility, and prosperity to your families.
May the Almighty always protect our country and our people!
Happy Ramadan Hayit, my dears!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
