On February 6, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The head of our state expressed deep condolences in connection with the numerous casualties and large-scale destruction as a result of a strong earthquake that occurred today in the southeastern provinces of Turkey. Words of sympathy and support were conveyed to the fraternal Turkish people, relatives and friends of the dead and injured.
Issues of practical cooperation in order to overcome the consequences of a natural disaster were discussed. On February 7, it is planned to send humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan to Turkey and send a group of rescuers.
An exchange of views also took place on topical aspects of the bilateral agenda and regional cooperation.
